About Samsara

“THROUGH ITS WORKS, SAMSARA ALWAYS UPHOLDS VALUES OF RIGHT-BASED, YOUTH PARTICIPATION, YOUTH-FRIENDLY SERVICE, GENDER EQUITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY, AND SPIRITUALITY”

Originally founded as a blog in 2007 by Inna Hudaya. Following the request of many women, the blog expands as a source and support for women with unplanned pregnancies where women can share their stories and ask question-related to their pregnancies and abortion. A year later, 20 April 2008 in Jakarta, Inna Hudaya collaborate with Kikie Nikujuluw and Grace Clarissa Susetyo start an initiative to establish Samsara. Samsara is a rights-based organization that promotes and support the access to education and information on SRHR and safe abortion.

Vision & Mision

Samsara vision is to create a world without discrimination where everyone’s sexual and reproductive rights fully recognized, respected and fulfilled. Samsara aims to improve women’s sexual and reproductive health and promoting bodily integrity and autonomy.

Approaches & Values

Samsara relies first on the participation of the women and young people to ensure the success of its mission. Gender equity is one of Samsara’s values, this is why team spirit of Samsara mostly young people and consist of diverse gender and sexual orientation. Samsara put the women as the center of the service. Input from women and clients are taken into account in expanding the programs. A number of experts, collaborate with Samsara as the consultant from local, national and international networks. Expert interact as support for the organization to let the young people keep in the front line. Samsara is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion.It does not support or oppose any government or political system. It is concerned solely with the impartial protection of women rights
